Maxcase - A carbon steel process oil pipeline presented an active leak caused by localized corrosion and material degradation.
✳️ Challenge: A carbon steel process oil pipeline presented an active leak caused by localized corrosion and material degradation. The damaged section required an immediate repair solution capable of minimizing downtime while restoring the mechanical integrity of the pipe and providing long-term protection against future corrosion.
🛠️ Solution:
- The repair procedure began with proper surface preparation to remove contaminants and create the ideal profile for adhesion.
- The damaged area was then rebuilt using MAX 5361, restoring the original geometry and structural integrity of the pipeline. After curing, the repaired surface received a final protective layer of MAX 1511, forming a dense ceramic barrier with exceptional resistance to corrosion, abrasion and process fluids.
- This combined repair system restored the damaged area while significantly improving the long-term durability of the equipment.
✅ Results:
• Immediate containment of the active leak.
• Restoration of the pipeline structural integrity.
• Excellent adhesion to the prepared steel substrate.
• Increased resistance against corrosion, abrasion and erosion.
• Extended service life of the repaired pipeline.
• Reduced maintenance frequency and associated costs.
• Minimized production downtime.
• Increased operational reliability and asset protection. Leak eliminated, corrosion protection restored, longer service life, lower maintenance and higher operational reliability
