Leak repair and pipe recovery

Maxcase #02 - Water Company, Identification and repair of pipes (approximately 0.5 meters in diameter) of a water and sewage treatment company in Brazil.

✳️ Challenge:
Repair a large amount of erosion caused leaks on the 500mm water lines and to protect the substrate against further damage. The erosion was caused by time and high fluid volume, the damaged area had poor access and subsequently not periodically maintained.

🛠️ Scope of Activities:
- Cleaning, decontamination and abrasive profiling of the substrates.
- Patching holes with MAX5411 and metal sheets;
- Application of additional MAX5412 for repair and protection of the affected areas.

✅Solution:
The external region of the tube was chemically cleaned and then the surface was prepared to create a sufficient degree of roughness for the product to be anchored. Then, degreaser was used before applying the MAX5511 polymer. Metal sheet was used to seal the hole.

✅✅ Conclusions:
After intense work to recover and seal the holes in different sections of the pipeline, the water company reopened the valves to their full capacities, and the flow proceeded smoothly, without leaks and efficiently. It is continuously monitored and meets the company's expectations.
